Frequently Asked Questions
The questions Houston homeowners ask us most often.
Is the robot mower included in the $1,999 starting price?
Yes. The starting package includes a robotic mower package and professional setup for qualified residential lawns. Final mower configuration, pricing, and warranty terms are confirmed with you before installation.
What mower do you install?
Each Lopkin Care Houston install uses the LOPKIN L2500 robotic mower — a wire-free model with RTK + 3D vision navigation, AI obstacle avoidance, IP66 weather rating, and roughly 4 hours of battery per charge. Handles up to about 1 acre per day. Comes with a 3-year machine warranty and 2-year battery warranty. Full manufacturer specs: lopkin.com/products/lopkin-l-series.
Is every yard eligible?
No. Slopes, obstacles, tree coverage, narrow passages, or unusual layouts may require review — that's why we start with a free yard check before any commitment.
Do I need to install the mower myself?
No. We handle dock placement, yard mapping, app setup, and the test mow on a single appointment.
What does the on-site installation include?
A single appointment that covers six steps:
- Yard assessment — review layout, dock location, slopes, and mowing zones.
- Charging dock placement — secure the dock for reliable charging and return-to-dock.
- Equipment inspection — check mower hardware, sensors, and charging connection.
- Mapping & configuration — set up the app, define mowing zones, and the basic schedule.
- Test mow — run a real mow to verify movement, coverage, and return-to-dock.
- Walkthrough — show you how to start, pause, schedule, dock, and monitor your mower.
Plus 30-day setup support after install.
What happens after installation?
We walk you through the app and basic operation, then provide 30-day setup support for mapping, no-go zones, schedule, and setup adjustments if needed.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
The mower uses AI obstacle avoidance with 3D vision that can recognize 300+ object types, including pets. Even so, the mower should not operate while children or pets are actively playing on the lawn. Always follow the mower manufacturer's safety instructions.
Does it handle Houston heat and humidity?
Yes. We schedule the mower for cooler windows (early morning or after sunset). The LOPKIN L2500 is IP66-rated for humid summers and battery life is unaffected up to about 100°F.
Can it mow St. Augustine grass?
Yes. The LOPKIN L2500 handles St. Augustine, Bermuda, Zoysia, and most warm-season Texas grasses. We confirm the right cut height during your free yard check before installation.
Why do I need professional installation? Can't I just buy a mower and DIY?
Buying a robot mower is easy — getting it set up to actually work in your yard is the hard part. Many homeowners struggle with mapping, app configuration, dock placement, and inconsistent results. Lopkin Care handles installation, precise mapping, app setup, and an on-site test mow so the mower is set up to perform reliably from day one.
How big a yard can the mower handle?
The LOPKIN L2500 mows up to about 4,000 m² (~1 acre) per 24-hour cycle, and up to about 28,000 m² over 7 days. Real-world coverage depends on yard layout, mowing zones, slopes, and dock placement — we confirm fit during your free yard check before any paid installation.
Is the mower noisy?
No — it's an electric robotic mower designed for low-noise routine operation, much quieter than a traditional gas mower. Quiet enough to run during the day or early evening without disturbing neighbors.
How much can I save compared with lawn service?
Savings vary. Homeowners who currently pay for recurring mowing may reduce long-term routine mowing costs, but actual savings depend on yard size, mowing frequency, service rates, maintenance needs, and final mower package.
What areas do you serve?
We're currently prioritizing Houston metro including Memorial, Sugar Land, Katy, The Woodlands, Pearland, Cypress, and Clear Lake, plus Inner Loop neighborhoods such as River Oaks, Bellaire, and West University.
When are installations available?
We're collecting yard check requests for upcoming Houston installations. Availability depends on your location, yard fit, and scheduling capacity.
What does robot mowing not replace?
Robot mowing is designed for routine grass cutting. It does not replace edging, string trimming, fertilization, weed control, irrigation repair, leaf cleanup, seasonal cleanup, or major landscape work.
What happens if my yard is complex?
Complex yards — multi-zone, heavy tree coverage, slopes, or unusual layouts — may require additional setup time and a higher quote. We'll review your property details before any commitment.
